Types of Scholarships

Major-Based Scholarships

These scholarships are dedicated to students admitted to programs of strategic priority. They aim to empower qualified students to develop their skills and refine their talents through full coverage of tuition fees, enhancing their academic and creative journey, and supporting their future contribution to the cultural legacy that Riyadh University for the Arts aspires to establish.

Talent-Based Scholarships

These scholarships celebrate creative talents. Eligibility is assessed through admission evaluation components, including performance auditions, artistic portfolios, and personal interviews. Achievements, awards, and participation in competitions serve as supporting factors that strengthen an applicant’s profile. These scholarships target students whose work reflects distinction and the ability to inspire, innovate, and contribute to the development of the cultural scene.

Key Considerations:

Once the application process is completed and all requirements are met, the applicant’s eligibility for a scholarship is reviewed.
Eligibility is assessed based on the applicant’s talent, creative portfolio, and relevant experience in the chosen program.
Scholarships are limited and allocated according to the quotas set for each academic program.
Selection among eligible applicants is based on the strength and distinctiveness of their talent and submitted portfolios, ensuring fairness, equal opportunity, and alignment with the University’s academic standards.
Meeting admission requirements qualifies an applicant for scholarship consideration but does not guarantee an award of the scholarship.

Scholarship-Specific Conditions:

Talent-Based Scholarships:

This scholarship is awarded to applicants who demonstrate exceptional artistic or creative talent.
Talent is the primary criterion for evaluation, regardless of high school GPA or prior academic performance.
Assessment may include live auditions, video submissions of work or performances, portfolio reviews, and personal interviews.
External awards or recognitions strengthen an application but are not required for eligibility.
Evaluations are conducted by a specialized committee, including faculty from the relevant college or program.
Standardized evaluation criteria are applied to ensure fairness, consistency, and comparability across applicants.
The scholarship is subject to annual review to confirm continued eligibility.
Ongoing assessment considers performance quality, active participation in artistic activities, cumulative GPA (where applicable), and adherence to the University’s code of conduct.
This scholarship cannot be combined with a major-based scholarship.
Applicants receiving external sponsorship or funding are not eligible.

Major-Based Scholarships:

This category is dedicated to students admitted to programs of strategic priority at Riyadh University for the Arts.
The scholarship begins in the student’s first year within the qualifying program.
Eligibility requires admission to one of the specified majors under this category.
Applicants must meet both the creative evaluation criteria and the general admission requirements set by the University.
Students must remain in the qualifying major, maintain the required cumulative GPA, meet performance standards, and fulfill all academic and artistic requirements.
Any request to change majors while retaining the scholarship requires prior written approval from the Scholarship Committee.
The scholarship may be withdrawn if academic or artistic standards are not met, in cases of withdrawal from the University, disciplinary action, or exceeding the official program duration.
This scholarship cannot be combined with a talent-based scholarship.
Applicants receiving external sponsorship or funding are not eligible.

Talent-Based Scholarships (Limited Seats):

Diploma in Film and Television Production:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 80%
Bachelor’s in Film and Television Production:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 80%
Master’s in Screenwriting:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 50%
Master’s in Arts Management:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 50%

Major-Based Scholarships (Limited Seats):

Bachelor’s in Music Production:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 100%
Bachelor’s in Music:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 100%
Master’s in Music Education:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 100%
Bachelor’s in Acting for Stage and Screen:
• Scholarship coverage of total tuition fees: 100%
